After the express KRYS OCEAN RACE transatlantic brought the MOD70 fleet to Brest at lightning speeds, the fleet are back in close quarters action today with the Brest City Races. Two exhibition only contests take place with starts at 1000hrs this morning (local UTC+2hrs) and after lunch at 1500hrs
The opportunity for local visitors to see the fleet in action is one not to be missed. The MOD70’s will race out of the narrow confines of the Goulet de Brest channel. Winds should be pretty much ideal, around 15 knots from the west – just ideal considering that all the MOD70’s will take the opportunity to have guests on board.
The first race is about 12 miles long, so should be short and sharp.
