Saturday 28 May 2016 - The Spinnaker Cup Ocean Race is a classical costal race from San Francisco Bay to Monterey co-hosted by the San Francisco Yacht Club and the Monterey Peninsula Yacht Club as part of the Offshore Race Week.
On Friday 27 May, the SFYC Race Committee started 58 boats in 7 Divisions. In the multihull division, the MOD70 Orion crossed the finish line at 17 :10 :42 with a time of 6 hours 05 minutes and 42 seconds…eclipsing Tom Atkins’ Pac 52’ Meanie’s 2014 record of 6 hours and 44 minutes despite light air.
